Find what serves you

The more you explore…the better. Every art has something to offer. Like different fuels that flow around and through an engine, they serve purpose. They are different. They serve different needs. None better or worse than then next.

Some arts are better suited for specific terrains. Some are sport specific. Some fare well in close quarters and others are suited for more spacious areas.

Throughout your reading you will see what I see, and you are free to interpret what’s provided. Take and remove. Take and revise. Take and apply to whatever or whoever. Enjoy the journey.

Wing Chun

Probably one of the best styles for close quarters fighting and self-defense is Wing Chun. Eyes, throat, sternum, elbows, groin and knees are the areas one attacks in this particular style. It was a system developed to combat two styles: crane and snake. Wing Chun is a soft circular style where the artist generates explosive energy from within a small space. It is a southern Chinese made famous by Ip Man. This style influenced Bruce Lee while developing the philosophy Jeet Kune Do.
